Challenge
We had just started a company wide effort to introduce AI across all our products. Initially we were working on a chatbot, but I didn't want to use the chatbot for every AI interaction, and proposed some nudges to use our new AI feature and buttons that helped keep everything in context.
Results
Once the resume is uploaded, our AI model pulls what it can recognize as skills and certifications. Then, the user can accept or reject all or individually. So what was previously a tedious process can be solved with a couple clicks.
Process
Research & Analysis: This was a highly requested feature from several clients that were having trouble allocating resources effectively because of incomplete profiles. We also studied competitor apps and industry trends to gather insights
Wireframing & Prototyping: I wanted to create an experience that caught the users attention and made it as intuitive as possible to fill out and complete their user profile. If the system detected an incomplete profile, we would nudge the user to navigate to their user profile where AI could help them complete it.
Usability Testing: We conducted usability tests with a diverse group of users to validate the design and identify areas for improvement. Based on the feedback, we made necessary adjustments to the design.
Visual Design & Style Guide: This feature helped solidify when and where to use the "sparkle" icon, which we is now part of our AI design guide. Also, it encouraged other teams and team members to explore AI solutions that are more in line as opposed to using the chatbot.
Conclusion
This was a highly requested feature from several clients that were having trouble allocating resources effectively because of incomplete profiles. This way the user can do it quickly and easily leading to better resource allocation. There is time and money saved.
A future enhancement would be adding suggested learning to upskill resources to make them eligible for more projects and roles.
